چکیده
During one decade, an increasing percentage of world population has to be attributed array environmental, health and lifestyle factors. The potential effect extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF-EMFs) emitted from electrical various devices in the occupational environment light at night (LAN) elicit biological response are a major concern for public scientists. Controversial genetic oxidative stress effects have been reported by these polluted environments. Hence this study was undertaken with purpose evaluate melatonin hormone markers exposure workers along cumulative smoking drinking. subjects (n=342) included shift more than 2 years age, gender, socioeconomic status matched non-exposure controls (n=150). Self-reported symptoms were sought using questionnaire. Plasma Melatonin evaluated radioimmuno assay. Oxidative estimated measuring plasma malondialdehyde (MDA), serum nitric oxide (NO) erythrocyte catalase levels. When data exposed analyzed, significant decrease levels observed. MDA demonstrated increase sub-group. NO shows increase. chemical agent or environmental pollutant could possible contributor enhancing adverse fields. Certain caution is necessary.

Background: The aim of this study was to assess exposure to extremely low frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF-EMFs) and its effects on secretion of thyroid hormones associated with symptoms of fatigue on electric arc welding workers. Methods: This study was carried out on two groups including 35 welders (as exposed) and 35 non-welders (as control). Extremely low frequency electromagnetic fie...
متن کاملEffect of Long-term Exposure to Extremely Low-frequency Electromagnetic Fields on β-amyloid Deposition and Microglia Cells in an Alzheimer Model in Rats
Background: Recently, researchers have considered extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF-EMFs), as one of the non-invasive therapies, in the treatment of many severe neurological disorders, including Alzheimer Disease (AD). AD is a progressive neurodegenerative disease characterized by the deposition of amyloid plaques in the brain. However, the increase in microglial cells increas...
متن کاملExtremely low frequency-pulsed electromagnetic fields affect proangiogenic-related gene expression in retinal pigment epithelial cells
Objective(s): It is known that extremely low frequency-pulsed electromagnetic fields (ELF-PEMF) influence multiple cellular and molecular processes. Retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells have a significant part in the emergence and pathophysiology of several ocular disorders, such as neovascularization. This study assessed the impact of ELF-PEMF on the proangiogenic features of RPE cells. Mate...
متن کاملComparing the Impact of Long-Term Exposure to Extremely Low-Frequency Electromagnetic Fields With Diverse Values on Anxiety, Memory, Learning, and Β-Amyloid Deposition in Adult Rats
Background: Extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF-EMFs) have gathered significant consideration for their possible pathogenicity. However, their effects on nervous system functions were not fully clarified. In this study, our aim was to assay the effect of ELF-EMFs with different intensity on memory, anxiety, antioxidant activity, beta amyloid (Aβ) deposition and microglia populat...
